vr calais auto box same as vr

gday guys, this is my first post on the forum which looks to be great. I have just got my hands on a vr calais and the box in it as as sad as. I have heard from a few blokes that the boxes are not compatable between the calais and the berlinas because of the speedo cable being on the othert side or some shit. i know nothing about this and REALLY need to know if any vr box will fit straight in. I want to get it going good asap. Any advise would be great. cheers.

This is Holden we are talking about if it can be done cheap it will be done cheap. I highly doubt there is a difference unless your talking about V6 to V8

nope v6 to v6 mate. thats what I thought but I dont want to get a box then it not fit. They've told me that the exhaust wont line up either.

I suggest going to another place because the one you have taken it sound like they don't know anything about commodores.

Nah mate, I havnt taken it anywhere. The bloke that sold it to me told me all this and a mate of mine reakon there different aswell. i want to do all the work myself and thought that there would be someone on here that could tell me FOR SURE if there the same. But yer you are right I dont think either of these bloke no much about commodores and neither do I. Cheers.

the boxes are the same...the exhaust unles ones irs and ons solid rear aaaaaaaaexact same mate. your mates full of shit why give two diferent boxes for the o0ne model of car witht he v8...
