    Default beefing up the trans vr acclaim

    i have a vr acclaim and have read that towing can overheat the trans i nead a tow car and realy like the car so dont whant to have to replace it so is there any thing i can do to beef up the trans and help it stay cool eg puting a fan on the trans cooler ect

    it might be an idea to put some camber adjusters in the back end so its got minimal camber with a trailer on, a fan on the trans cooler may help at lower speeds but i've heard once u get over 60 odd kays then incoming airflow outflows any fans on there.

    apparently if ya towing a heavy load its a good idea to leave it in 3rd not drive, and keep an eye on the oil, make sure it's staying a nice red colour not going black.

    a shiftkit wouldn't hurt either, make it shift quicker with less slippage

    You will need to instal an external cooler for the transmission....this is a must. Yhey only cost around $100 for a large one. Heat is the biggest transmission killer.
