If you need to ask, its probably gonna be a bit of a learning curve for you. I suggest you go get a workshop manual showing an exploded view of the ecotec 3800 and figure it out from there.

They sound sweet mate, ive just put a custom billet cam in my VS, being a manual it burbles like CRAZY on the downshift, with a full exhaust setup and about 10.5:1 compression + worked heads. No it doesnt sound like a 5L but just as good. It's untuned at the moment so i don't know of it's power potential, it should be less lumpy after a tune, i reckon if i ran it on the headers now there'd be flames shooting out.

I liked your post right up until you said it sounded as good as a 5ltr.

I put a cam into a mates V6. Its fairly straight forward but ALOT easier out of the car.
As for the sound, pull a spark plug out on a standard motor and thats pretty much what it sounds like at idle.

Well personally i reckon it sounds as good as a 5L. That's not to say it sounds ANYTHING LIKE a 5L
