rough idle, runs rich, engine light, driveline shudder

hey guys,#

having a couple of issues with my 93 vr. on cold days it runs really rough until it warms up and it usually leaks petrol fumes really badly into the cabin. also the engine light usually comes on when it's cold. once it's warmed up it goes off but then after a long drive if I go up a long gradual hill at between 95 and 100 the light comes back on and it feels like the trans slips or I'm loosing power maybe? also at about the same speed there is a really loud vibration that I can feel through the car (feels like it's coming from the left front wheel) I have had the wheels aligned but still does it. I'm wondering if it's maybe wheel bearings or hopefully not the trans?#

if anyone has some insight I would really appreciate it coz I'm sick of spending money at mechanics and specialists who can't diagnose any faults#

If you are still at a loss you could try and home in on the problem by sending of a sample of oil to the lab for analysis of contaminants. You could try Oil testing laboratory, oil analysis laboratory, oil condition monitoring, oil testing services Sydney Australia - OilCheck Pty Ltd who have a good service, I use Roktex - Check Your Engine With an Oil Test as the offer a free disposable sampling kit with a postage paid mailing pack to the lab with payment only required to release the report. In the past I have found the maintenance suggestions useful.
