hey guys my thermo only kicks in some times ive tested it and it run perfectly off straight power. So i was wondering if it would be ok to run it directly off an acc power source so its constantly on,,of course ill fuse it and relay it but will it be fine for a quick fix until i get paid i have done it before on my vp and it ran fine for 2 years.. so will it be ok
your thermo will be fried alot sooner than its expected life if you do.
what's the problem with the thermo at the moment, they kick in at a cirten temp 109 deg c and switch of at around 100 deg c and only runs below 40km/h and of corse when the a/c is on. there are many vr's getting around with misleading gauges and also blocked radiators, maybe a good cooling flush and possibly a new thermo stat.

You may have a blocked radiator of an incorrectly reading temp gague.
If you have acess to a scan tool, you can read the engine temp from the coolant temp sensor rather than the gague sender.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
You may have an air lock if it only started after the first flush.
ive bleed and redropped everything today i cant think of what else it could be..
get a new radiator
or run the fan i did it in my vs for 3 years never had a problem
three thing in life are guaranteed
taxes
death
and car repairs
if you have an air lock, running the thurmo fan constantly will not solve the issue it will heat up the area around the air lock and blow a head or crack it or such

Here is my way of getting the air out of the system:
With everything closed I fill the radiator through the cap.
Also make sure the overflow if full to the top and lid is fitted.
Blow through the overflow drain to pressurise the overflow and get air out of the overflow to radiator hose.
The close the cap and run engine for 5 to 10 minutes watching the temp gauge. Sometimes I go for a short drive.
Then with the engine still running, undo the bleed screw until a steady stream of coolant comes out.
Then check overflow and top up.
ohok thanks it not gettin as warm since my bottom radiator hose was not on properly but i will do this after work tommorrow
