is it posible to adjust the backlash in a vr irs diff i so how is it done can i do it at home ect
as mine has freeplay in the diff only makes a noise when the diff is loaded up eg hard take off
but is wisper quiet when i excelerate from 60 to 100 ect
check your uni joints first.

No play in the pinion bearings?
You could remove the rear cover an check the backlash with a dial indicator.
To adjust you will need to use a special tool to spread the housing so the carrier can be removed to change the shims in the carrier bearings.
Or the spider and side gears are worn.
Better option would be to take it to a diff specialist.
