    Default remote controls

    One of my remotes is cactus. GM parts want $130 to replace. Anyone have a cheaper option?I live in south west Sydney.

    If you mean the remote keyhead,you can get them cheaper online-(still needs to be programmed) or at places like mr minit key cutting places.A few locksmiths sell them cheaper than holden too.You need a working keyhead to buy a new one through mr minit or similar places as they need to program the new keyhead,and they use the old working one to do this.If you have no working remote or a dead keyhead,then holden are the only ones as far as I know, that can access your cars security code using your VIN,then they can program the new keyhead with a tech 1 scantool.

    I suggest just going to Mr. Minit Cost like $80 and I got a new key cut to!

    Thanks for that info Brett.I removed the battery which was spot welded in and I was going to throw another battery in to see if that works.Now I know I can get another I might try that anyway and let you know how it works out.
