displays a higher rev range, eaiser to see quickly, shift light abilitys?

kind of like goign from a 15" computer screen to a 17" same job, just does it better.

    as for the original question,

im not sure which wire would allow a piggy back but i suppose the tacho shoulf of given instructions on how to hook it up if the car never had a tach.

Passenger side strut tower in engine bay should be a brown wire taped back, Use that wire to get tacho signal

I guess he wants to do it like mine, saves running wiring into the engine bay. Mine is wired in just before the dash pickup. If I can be stuffed ill check which one it was later. All we did with mine was to use a multimeter and rev the car, you will notice a change in voltage in relation to revs if you have the right one.

Look at the back of the cluster on the PCB circuit, It should say what wire is what on the plug sections......
