Hi was wondering if someone could help me.
A while ago i had extractors and a new exhaust fitted to my vs. I also fitted a holden supercharged air intake
with a k&n pannel air filter.
After this i noticed that the exhaust was black and sooty. I the had the O2 sensors replaced and the cooling
system pressure tested. the exhaust is still black and sooty.
could someone advise me as what to do next.
Thanks.
Have you checked there's any error codes? If the car doesn't run any differently then I would say the extractors have just freed the exhaust up a bit which the ecu has now realised and is dumping more fuel to compensate. A tune would probably work wonders for you too.
Have you checked the fuel consumption and taken out any of the spark plugs to see what colour they are?
Thanks for the feedback.
I will check the plugs when i get a chance (not able to check them for 2 weeks).
The fuel consumption is high, about 400 km per tank (freeway driving).
The plugs were replaced when the injectors were cleaned (insitue cleaning).
Then the O2 sensors were changed then.
Thanks for the help.
