My V6 was dying, so I got a wrecker to replace it with a low-mileage unit. A few days later,
I was investigating a problem, and noticed that the purge hose (which is under the throttle)
was cut and blocked with a bolt. When revving the engine, I hear a faint whistle, so it is
sucking air and needs to be fixed. Also the piece of hose was pointing forward instead of
back. I tried calling the bloke who fitted the motor, but he was not at work today.
Now I wonder why this was done. Maybe the hose was damaged.
Also the vehicle has LPG conversion. Is this some dodgy bush mechanics trick for LPG
on the Ecotec?
I assume thats the hose from the manifold to throttle body ? Don't know why LPG would require that, so maybe get a new piece of hose and try hooking it up properly. Try sneak a peak at another VS with LPG if you can find one.
Do you mean the canister purge or the crankcase breather? I think its pretty standard to block it off when doing and lpg conversion, saves filling the inside of your engine up with gas.
