Hi having problems with the missus' VS ute. The central locking isn't working and I hoped that it was a flat battery in the key but after getting the key replaced thats obviously not the problem. I also checked the fuse but that seems fine too. I really don't want to have to take it to the auto electricians so if anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix it (without replacing the entire thing) I would greatly appreciate it.
Take the door cards off (with care) and unhook the locking motors but leave them in the door and pluged in then try locking, unlocking and watch to see if they try to move (lock Unlock). If they work fine there them look at the conecting rods to see if they are free to move etc or if the motors dont try to move pull them out and get new ones.
as i recently found out in another thread on here, not all the utes came out with central locking but despite this holden still supplied them with the remote control key head. as waffen ss said, take the door cards off and firstly check to see if you have central locking on the car. if you do then do as waffen ss said and check the motors etc to see if they are still working etc
Thanks- will pull the door cards off and have a look next weekend.
Hi guys i have a VR series 2 Berlina all my doors none of the locking motors work in any door up or down they dont work with key remote and dont work by using the key blade in the drivers door the fuse is not blown i changed the drivers central locking motor still nothing i have changed the BCM from another vr berlina i have that i know works but still nothing lol any help would be nice .
Maybe try reprogramming the key to the BCM? I think you hold the key in the ignition and hold the unlock button down, i cant remember how to do it, but thats an option to try.

Hey mate what model is the Vs ute? i have a series 1 vs but it appears not to have central locking just the keys with the button
It mentions a bit about the central locking in series 1 utes in the gregorys workshop manual.Under the BCM (Body Control Module) section,it mentions that the low series BCM that is fitted to utility, executive, acclaim,S, and CSI models, controls the following functions, central door locking(except series 1 utility),washer timer, theft deterrent systems, courtesy lamp delay, automatic lights off,and if applicable, cruise control and power windows. It goes on to say the following-
The high series BCM controls the same as the low series BCM ,but with the following extra functions,Variable windscreen wiper delay, power aerial, speed sensitive power steering,(calais, newport and statesman),instrument lamp dimmer, automatic lamps off with delay, rear lamp failure warning, rear demister, engine cooling fan low speed relay, and theft deterrent systems.
Looking at this,Id say the series 1 utilitys did not have central locking available as on option. It would be interesting to see if any of the wiring was still fitted to these utes, and to see if the original BCM could support central locking if the power door locks and wiring was fitted up etc..
When manually pressing the drivers door lock button up or down do anything to the passenger door?

Hey fellas- it's my ute that Red78 is talking about lol. It's a series 3 VS S so remote central locking should actually be standard on it. Not happy at all after spending $220 on new keys for it (I was hoping the key's bettery was the problem)
Tried putting the key in the door and pressing the buttons as it was suggested and nothing has changed, the remote central locking still doesn't work
Markovr- when manually pressing up or down the drivers door lock the passenger one doesn't do a thing. Passenger lock won't even go down if the door is open so have been locking it from the inside then use the key to lock the drivers door. Real pain in the arse.
