I currently have a standard diff, looking to get an LSD centre. I'm having difficulty finding a full diff for sale reasonably close to me.
Does the backlash have to be reset when changing the centre ONLY, while using the same gear set? If not i'll just buy the centre and swap it. Not willing to pay out the arse to have it reshimmed though.
Back lash would only be in the centre, not to do with the gears, its the mark up of the gears you should worry about.
This listing is at a good price. Your looking at about $400 for a new LSD centre only. Not ot mention the professional build that its apparently had. Mark up that i can see doesnt look to bad, but they did it weirdly.

when changing centres, backlash and wear pattern need to be checked otherwise gear life can be considerably shortened or as one member found out when there wasn't enough backlash that the gears bound up when they got hot
having said that, many have fitted LSD centres (without checking) and not had any major issues

Immortality, the guy you're referring to, did he just change the centre or the gears too?
