    Wink Vr Radiator Cracked!!!

hey guys, annoying day ive had. last nite my temp gauge was going up and down dramatically, i assumed, hoping, it was sumtin simple such as low oil or sumtin perhaps a faulty sensor.
    oil was fine.
but today as i was drivin me n my gf to the cinemas, my temp gauge was just about on H and i thought id pull over n see wots goin on, first thing i noticed was steam coming from the drivers side of the radiator core or wotever its called, and a big splatter of coolant on the radiator fan shield. i looked at where the steam was coming from and the was a massive crack about 10cm long just spewing coolant out.

so now im guna have to spend 250 bucks to get it replaced, has anyone else had a similar sort of problem? should i be worried bout sumtin else to do with it? ive had the car for bout 4 months n its a 94 vr, the place where it cracked looked fairly corroded so im assuming its the original radiator or very old which is annoyin.

thought id share my frustration with you all

Go get a new one and watch out for the cheap shit, spend $250+ and get one worth having, I put a VS V8 steel job dat I had Recored in mine and added a thermal 16" fan. Its a home built supercharged V6 and can do skids all day and not go over half temp, Bottom line is get a good one from a supplier you or your mates Know or trust and get a new 100kpa (15psi) radiator cap and thermostat.

I suggest you get a new one on eBay. If you can wait a few days for it to be delivered (5 - 6 days to WA, probably less for Victoria), you can pick a new radiator up on eBay for $99.95. I bought one 17 months ago. Delivery to WA was an extra $34.00. I couldn't tell the difference between the new one and the original. I've done 15,000 km since then and it's working as it should.
