I'm hooking up an amp to a stock eurovox 10 stacker (VS Calais), and was wondering if the head unit has an amp trigger ? If so, which wire am I looking for ? If not, what's the best way to do it ?
I'd prefer not to run the amp whenever accessories are on, but worst case I suppose, a toggle switch off the accessories line ?
Cheers
You mean to power the amp automatically? It should have either a "remote" line or just wire it to the "accessories" line. Not sure about colours sorry. Try searching for a wiring guide for that head unit.
Yeh - looking to power the amp only when there stereo is on. Aerial trigger is no good - as I want the CD to thump as well. Will power it to accessories if I have to.Originally Posted by ducatis
So yeh, looking to find out if the deck has a remote line without pulling the dash down needlessly. Any tips on where to find a wiring diagram would be great!
cheers
I'd just wire it into the accessories. The red wire if it's like most looms.
ill have a look around the net. whats the product number for the head unit......
well your going to have to rip the dash apart anyway to install the new amp...its easy.
If you post the headunits model number ill find the info ur after..or you could just search![]()
Thanks for the offer mate. Model number not displayed on the unit - would have to pull it out to find - at which time I'd find if it had a remote wire...Originally Posted by ducatis
nyways, I installed the amp yesterday, running the remote line off the accessories. and it's all good - absolutely hammers even with the stocko speakers in situ.
I've started work on modifying a laptop with an 8inch screen to replace the headunit, so no need to fuss any further about what model it is, once I pull it out it'll stay out.
thanks again.
