It goes up and down ok but when it goes to the bottom it still sticks out about an inch now. It's as if it is binding up so I sprayed some silicon on the mast when it was fully extended but it did nothing. So are these things servicable i.e. is the drum that takes up the cord getting gunjed up and be taken apart or is it just simply wearing out ?

You can get a replacement mast and the nylon rope that is used to ratchet the aerial up and down, but I've personally never had any success with this on either my VS Calais or my wife's VS Clubsport. Better off buying a replacement aerial and motor unit from SuperCheap etc. You could also try getting a second-hand unit from a wrecker.

Push it down and disconnect it behind the kick panel. More trouble than its worth to replace. Radio pickup is fine when the aerial is down.

IBLOWN has that one, Mine has done the same so it got jamed in there to stay and seems to work fine. If your going to play just get a new one and its a shit of a job.
