I have had one of those days where the car just would not crank, battery etc fine & told by NRMA it's the key, but then I am told a key will be $90 and then they want another $88 to program it!!!...
Firstly, "Does anyone know of a better deal in the south western suburbs of Sydney?, Cabramatta area.
And secondly, I already have another good key from another car and if I change my blade over so that it's works and fits can I simply get this key programed instead of having to buy another key altogether?, Maybe if they weren't so greedy I'd consider bother but nearly $200 for a car key is a bit red hot I think...???.

A commodore key head, once programmed will only ever respond to the bcm it was programmed to and cannot be re-programmed to another bcm. i.e swapping another working keyhead from another car with your blade will not start your car. If your blade is not too worn you could buy just a new key head and use the old blade and get it programmed. I think Holden charges about $50 to program and $70 for the keyhead. Ebay is also a good source for the key head and is cheaper again.
Mister minit 100 bucks programmed ready to go, takes about 5 minutes if that,, an they use genuine holden key heads
