Oil pressure switch question

If I unplug the oil pressure switch on a 5.0L, shouldnt the oil pressure light come on in the dash when the car is running? because mine doesnt. It will come on at ignition but then go out quickly.

I Would check error codes, as its electrical it should detect if its there or not.

no. it only earths the light when there is no pressure. disconnecting it means there is no circuit at all.

Ah, Thought it would still throw up a error since it could not detect it that all :S
