Replacing gearbox

Well today me and my uncle swapped over my old gearbox for another one because i had lost reverse and 3rd gear.

But after hours we got it all back in to place. Then on start up i went to put it in gear and nothing happen.
wouldnt go into reverse or drive and i tried sliding the shifter all the way up and down..

i dont have access to the car untill tomorrow but where should i start looking?

have you reconnected the linkage for the shifter

put fluid in the trans, im assuming its auto.

just did mine and i lost 3L of oil in the process. a drain and refill with a new filter might be on the cards for ya....

Yer when i replaced mine this also did happen and the solution was there was not enough oil in the box. i read the manual and put in the amount of oil it said but in the end i needed heaps more for it to register on the dip stick.
