HELP door not locking

ive got a vr ute no central locking. i just use the key in the key hole.

For some reason the drivers door unlocks with the key but wont lock with the key.

If i close the door i can lock the door from the inside ( push down on the door thingo) but the door will NOT lock with the key.. but if i hop out the passanger side with the door still locked from inside. i can unlock the drivers door with the key. but not lock

any ideas?

Pull the trim off the drivers door and inspect the operation of the lever connected to the back of the door key...maybe its badly worn. Spray everything that moves with lubricant while you're in there.

yeh ive pulled it all apart n taken the barrel to the lock smith. redoing the whole barrel to suit key. he said it was probs just worn.
