Exhaust Manifold Lock Plates

Hey guys i was just wondering if it is necessary to have exhaust lock plates on, because i destroyed the factory ones whilst removing the manifold the other week, so i just put the manifold back on without them..... Car seems to run fine..... i even went to a few places to see if anyone had them but they reckon that its a factory part or some sh*t

They are there to stop the studs from coming undone. I never refit them and I never have a problem.
