vr starter moter wiring

the excite wire on the starter motor doesent spark half the time so i added a new wire straight from the battery to see if it would get the starer motor working witch it did but its like the car doesent have any spark now it turns over good but just doesent start any ideas? iv checked a few of the ground wires and that and they r all good..

sounds immobiliser like if it wasn't cranking, and no not firing.

does the red flashing security light extinguish when the ignition is turned on?

I have exactly the same problem with my v8 vr.. the red flashing light does not extinguish when the ignition is on.. is this an imobiliser problem> could it be the battery in the key?

Have you checked the connection from the key to the barrel? Is that still good?

Also try prssing the 'unlock' button on the key just before you turn the key to 'start' - this turns the immobiliser off.
