hi there, my vr wagon has recently started to stumble/stall on takeoff... it only seems to do it on a near or complete stop.. i go to take off and it drops out for a second before taking off. like it wants to stall but kicks back in again... i have checked for fault codes and coming up clean code 12..thought it might be a fuel blockage so did the filter and nothing, just replaced TPS and nothing again.. i reset the ECU and ran ok for about 5 mins then started again.. iv recently changed the spark plugs, oil switch, oil, fuel, air and oil filters, battery. had the alternator checked... bloody got me baffled... ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT IT COULD BE?
Try cleaning the throttle body and IAC (idle air control valve)...if they get glugged up it will cause this problem. Also closely check all vacuum lines around the TB.

checked all the lines and they seem fine, cleaned the throttle body when i changed the TPS but didnt think to clean the AIC.... do i just spray throttle body cleaner into it and wipe off or use metho or something?
ok cleaned the AIC valve, was dirty as..... cleaned all of the holes inside the throttle body.... and while i was there checked the crank angle sensor and the plug on that was pretty dirty too... cleaned that and one of the metal slots on the plug lookes pretty crap so i tryd scratching on it to bare metal. cleaned that to the best as i can.. dryed off with paper towl and let sit for 20 mins then put a hair dryer on it all for about 5 mins took it for a drive, thought mad its gone... soon as the car warmed up the bloody thing starts again.... any suggestions?
Coil Packs, DFI Module, Dirty or Clogged Fuel Filter.
If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
did the fuel filter last week, going to do the ignition leads in a couple of days... will check the coils while im there.....
I'd go plugs and leads.
it was fine till i did the service, but iv only had it 2 months too. the only thing i didnt fully replace was the leads, i found 2 faulty leads and replaced them with leads off a vn, but dont think it was that but am replacing them anyway this week just in case..i put a amp and head unit in and started around that time... i unpluged them and didnt change.. just plucking at straws now...
