    Default Quick Question

hey guys, i got my radiator replaced on my vr 2 weeks ago, its been workin fine, but ive noticed that coolant has been seeping through the radiator cap, im just wondering if it would be a dodgey radiator cap that isnt holding pressue?

has anyone else had this problem? also wot type of radiator cap would a vr take, could anyone give me exact models of caps or pressure ratings?

    cheers

yeah sounds like the caps not holding pressure anymore.... just go to a auto place like supercheap and ask someone there, they will tell you what you need

The radiator will be working fine but because your cap is buggered it leaks when hot instead of filling the reseviour then as it cools down sucks the reseviour water back to the radiator thats why you think your loosing water. Get A new 15psi (100kpa) cap.

I would assume that whoever replaced the radiator at least fitted a new cap, if not a thermostat and coolant flush as well.

The design of the aftermarket cap has changed in the last year or so and most of them seem to have an issue with the seal around the top the cap for a recovery type system.
Best thing thing you can do is get a genuine cap from Holden. They are about the same price as aftermarket and will, in most cases, solve the cap leaking issue as they are the older design.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
