Heya Id appreciate feedback about my VR 93 v6 that decides not to start if turned off for less than ten minutes. It has been suggested its the crankshaft sensor?? It will actually start but then dies immediately..as I say if sitting for a while then it usually starts no problem. Should I get a diagnostic test to find out for sure or is there a cheaper way?
Cheers for the help and feedback
do what im going to try tomorrow.. when it starts playing up, pour cold water on it and see how it goes... if it starts straight away and no problems till it warms back up... needs replacing... hope it helps...
Check you error codes as well. There's a how to on here. If anything comes up about the CAS being faulty I suggest you replace it and the balancer if it looks worn. Although going by your brief description it certainly sounds likely to be the cause of your issues.

ok will give that a go, its started taking more than an hour before it will start, but will give this ago today, and let ya know?
Buick and ecotec crank angle sensors have a history of playing up when hot.
A trick that has worked sometimes is to pour some cold water onto the CAS when it won't start when hot.
