Hey guys
Finally got the stato sort of running.
It's cranking over and takeing ages to start but it finally starts and runs while i have my foot to the floor but it sounds like a chaff cutter and wont rev whats so over and dies after 5-10 seconds.
I'm stumped, Has fuel pressure, Timings been checked 5 times over so i'm completely stumped. iv'e recently done the heads, havn't started it since then but everythings back together, all torqued correctly, and everything plugged in again that was unplugged.
Any Help will be greatly appreciated.
Deneo.
sounds like the sort of issue you get when the dizzy cap is shot
Yeah, It's a new dizzy cap roughly 2 months old though.
what about your firing order, you may have 1 or more leads out of order.
Spark plug diagram. You also might have cracked a spark plug or lead. Have you checked to see that you have compression on all cylinders?
How do i check iv'e got compression on all cylinders? And yes, iv'e popped the dizzy cap off and turned her over to TDC and made sure the firing order is right. Might buy a new set of plugs and see if there's a difference. cheers.
you need a compression gauge, not particulary dear, and they screw into the spark plug slot.
Did you pull the dizzy out as you may have put it back 180 degrees out i.e exhaust stroke instead of TDC?
did you pull the motor to do the work & if you did did you remove the dizzy first.
if you didn't pull the dizzy when you pulled the motor you would have bent it, thus creating erratic running.
this is just a couple of thoughts off the top of my head.
i hope it helps.
Dizzy hasn't been moved and Motor hasn't come out unfortunatly![]()
