    Default vr keeps draining battery

hello all, i am a first time holden owner, after converting from ford. love my car, but it has its problems. For some reason, the battery will drain completely. this happens every so often, not all the time.i bought a new set of jumpers, which solved the jumpstareting problem, but the battery wont hold charge and the tacho and dash lights are going mental. would this be an earthing problem, or something worse???

Assuming tat the battery is OK and there is nothing switched on then look for faulty diodes in the alternator

Alternator regs are good for this. But so are things like boot curtosy lights and glove box lights ect...

And yes sometimes you will get this on cars when jump starting. Remember to try and earh the jumper lead on the flat car as close to the starter as possible on the engine block. This will help limit that effect but wont cure it. If its a bit pursistant leave it a little while to let the battery take some charge
