I might have the chance on getting a VT 5L and gearbox at the right price plus all wiring ECU etc
how hard a swap would this be fitting to a VS V6 - could I keep the sequencial EFI or would I need to get a VS V8 wiring harness/ECU and change it to group EFI etc?
Cheers
Chris
you should alright, as long as you have everything electrically for it. The only thing is im not sure about is if the bcm attaches to it for security reasons. You may jst have to get that bit in the ecu programmed out by a tech, if infact it is an issue. But its effectivly the same engine and box(as it sounds like you are aware of) so it should all fit nice.
mines had that change over, but mine was already an 8, when in no dramas, had to have the vr box wired up to suit, but other than that its fine.

Thanks guys, yeah pretty much figured I might need to get the BCM part removed from the ECU.
Would I be able to use the BCM out of the VT? Apart from having to use the remotes that match the BCM would there be any other issues?
Was more concerned about loosing the sequencial EFI part but sounds like I can keep that which will be great
Maybe Pm delcowizz(spelling) this thread, he maybe able to post up to help you properly. Im a bit of a mug when it gets to specifics on BCM's ect from different models. He knows his stuff properly.
Thanks for that, have been doing a bit of reading on Delco Hacking and have seen he is very active there as well as Dr Bob
Shall wait to see if the motor ends up coming my way before I get too excited
