5 speed gearbox problem

hey can any one help me out, i got a 98 s-pac ute with the v6 5 speed manual and just today i was driving in forth gear and under load its popping out. it only seems to be forth. i have never had a problem with it and my ute just had a full service only a month ago. could any one help me out and tell me what the problem could be and how to fix it?

yeah i had the same problem with my ute i was told it was because the gearbox had been taken out and wasn't lined up properly. a few weeks later i took the box out and replaced my stuffed clutch and flywheel and it fixed the problem so i don't know if it was the stuffed clutch/flywheel or just the fact that it was not lined up properly.
Edit: does it have a Getrag box or the old Borg Warner t5?

guessing its a getrag because its 98. But yeah, potentially the g/box is gonna have to come out. Stop in and see your regular mechanic when your driving past in the next few days and have a chat to him. He will be able to advise you on fixs, its not uncommon but can be expensive sometimes.

Sound silly but are you sure you're engaging the gear fully before loading it up? I've had this happen when i change to second quickly and it pops out with a 'bang'.

Mine does the same thing just cruising along in forth it will just pop out
