    Default S1 and S2 V6 Rads - S2 Smaller?

    Hi,

I'm out to buy a replacement rad for my VS S2, I have noticed that the S2 Rad is a Single core and not dual, and also thinner core.

    Holden Radiators

I'm wondering why did they put a smaller radiator on the S2 and is there anyway I can get a S1 Rad to work as I'd want best cooling possible, and the fact that the S1 rad is cheaper too and bigger.

Seems as the S2 has a 135KPA System, wouldn't that increase the likelihood of side tank failure, just not sure what is the reason for the changes from the S1 to S2, as in going
to a smaller radiator and going 135kpa

Don't know if they are interchangeable though, especially the trans cooler lines.

    Thanks.

Get what ever one you want all you have to do is make sure you get a single core as its only for the trans cooler line, Most new radiaters come with both types of fittings for the trans lines, I got a VS S2 as well and I put a V8 steel tank radiator in with thermo fan but you dont need that if you use it for normal driving A to B. Get a new thermostate and 100KPA (15psi) Radiator cap as well.

You must buy the one with a threaded transmission cooler which is the series 2.....series one will not fit as the cooler lines are different. The radiator cap must be 1.35Kpa otherwise you may experience cooling problems. The plastic side tanks are more than capable of handling this pressure.
However, as WAFFEN SS says, some radiators come with both cooler fittings - some are on Ebay for around $100 delivered.
