On me Vs the rear alloy wheels are stuck on, i can't get them off, why are they doing this, never had a problem with my Vn.... How should i go about getting them off?....bang them off? pry them with a bit of timber? and yes i undone the lug nuts lol![]()
Very common problem for them to get seized on. Best way is to get a rubber mallet and bang the wheel from the inside, out.
i had a similar issue with a mates VK. we tried everything. last resort we left the nuts loose and drove it in a zigzag manner ( very slowly ) we had limited tools and needed to get them off the car.
i wouldnt recommend it.
Commodore owners should buy and keep a rubber mallet in the boot. Mos people have no idea they will be stuck on, and if they get a puncture, good luck taking the wheel off in the middle of no where with no tools he he.
They will only be seized together by a 15-20mm ring, on the center where the spigot goes inside the wheel hub, get the boot in mate!!
There is no such thing as stupid questions, Only stupid people.
I had the same problem with my new SSZ wheels on the tonner. All I did was bash opposite sides of the tyre with the ball of my hand until it became loose. hard to explain without pics so I drew a little pic :-)
Hit the stars lol

yeh ive had to do that before sitting on my arse with the wheel nuts just loose, wheel just off the ground and kicking with the sole of my shoes 1 side at a time
just make sure you support it well and dont get underneath it
I have never had the problem, but have found a few things to try here....
How to Get your car's wheels off when they're stuck on | eHow.com
To prevent this happening again, apply a light smear of 'anti sieze' copper grease around the hub and inside of rim.
Works every time.
If you do it when the discs are off, it stops them siezing too!
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
I rotated my wheels a while ago and the mags all came off no worries, however I had to use the spare steelie in order to let the car down off the jack and even though I only had the spare on fairly loose, with only two or three wheel nuts on it, I had this problem. I got a lump of timber on the inside of the tyre and belted shit out of it with a hammer, eventually came off. I think a few verbal profanities help too!
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
I tried to get it off today the bloody thing is stuck on rock solid, still wont budge, i even loosened the nuts and drove it a bit, still wont budge, smashed on the tire with big ass hammer.... still won't budge Grrrrr, all i want to do is change the brake pads dam it
I dont know if theres enough room around the inside of the wheel to do this, but all I can think of doing is to get the car jack in behind the wheel and try to push it off with that. You might have to try it on both sides of the wheel so it comes off straight.Or maybe get a long piece of wood and put it against the opposite wheel and then put the jack against that.Just be careful if you get under the car, support the car on chassis stands, not just a jack or housebricks .
yeah i was thinking about trying that, i was thinking maybe i could change the brakes from inside the wheel, there might be enough room for the caliper to slide out, not sure, i would still like to get this bloody wheel off though
Got the bloody thing off this arvie, loosened all the lug nuts and went for a drive.... stopped got out and checked and i could see the wheel had shifted, so slowly drove home and gave the wheel a few bangs and presto.... and changed brake pads while i was at it. all good, thanks to everyone for the tips by the way. cheers
