Default VS Berlina/Calais v6 fuel economy?

    Hi Guys and Girls,

I'm looking at upgrading my VP wagon to something with a bit more power and more economy in the next few months (if someone will employ me that is!!!) and I've been looking at the VS Berlina/Calais lately. I like their looks, they're a good price for the size/features, and I was just wondering if anyone can give me a idea of what economy would be reasonable to expect from one with an ecotec v6?

    Cheers!

I get average 350 kilometres out of a full tank in my VS Executive series 2 if that helps. Thats city traffic, bumper to bumper crawling slowly everyday. I get a lot more from highway driving.

While im on the subject, does that sound about right for city traffic/driving?

yeah i realise it varies according to conditions and driving. I'm most interested in open freeway economy, but also curious about gentle town driving? Sounds like they're no better than my VP though

i got a vs executive n have got ~9.5ltr/100km round town when i've had to go easy to make it to pay day, thats with not much bumper to bumper. As for country i've done 8ltr/100km driving to kalbarri fully loaded sitting on 120km/h - 130km/h with alot of over taking out of boredom, so i was pretty stoked when i worked out the numbers =D

vr series 2 wagon berlina ( i know its not a vs but just wait) over 700km on freeway and 250 300 from 1/2 tank around town. im averaging on both cycles over 5000km 9.1-10 L/100

the s2 vr are far better than the vs being the last of the bueik where they have ironed all the kinks out and up the power (5kw) and what not. vs 1st of the ecotec and no so refined

i will have to disagree with you statement about not being so refined, i drive a vs berlina wagon and when i first got the car on the highway i was able to achieve almost a 1000 kms out of one tank which is about 6.5L/100. even with the mods it has now (making around 145kw at the treads) it can still do 8-10L/100 on the highway. as for city driving i wouldnt see it unreasonable for an average vs to do 12-13L/100 around the suburbs.

it wont be worlds apart from your vp. roughly the same figures as its still the same size engine. id even go as far to say a good buick engine could do better fuel wise than an ecotec.

whats mods has it got? youd need to be making close to 200 at the engine to get that

also got to remember our wagon tanks are slightly bigger than the stock sedan tank.
