Default how to do a compression test?

    Hi everyone,

ok I know how to do a commpression test, but

how do you guys do them without getting burnt??

You do need to do it with the engine hot yea?

its so hard getting the plugs out and a compression tester in with the engine so hot.

Please give me any tips/ideas you guys have.

Asbestos gloves???? Buy a 4cylinder??? *jokes*

I usually do them cold as the engine temp drops as the test is being done. And you don't get burnt!

It's not all about the readings, more so the difference between the readings.

you can do them electronically but if shows a big drop than a mechanical one is needed.

How to check compression without a gauge:
When you crank an engine over, it should spin smoothly - if it spins, then jumps you can guarantee a cylinder is down on compression. This test must be done with the DFI module unplugged.
