VS SS auto strange noise in 2nd
Hi all,
My 5.0 auto makes an unusual scraping rubbing sound, not loud but noticable... you can actually hear it through the air vents.
It only happens in 2nd gear especially when held in 2nd and only above 4000rpm, quiet in all other gears and below 4000rpms.
The trans shifts perfectly and oil is good, I have only had the car for 2 mths, always made the noise since I've had it and has not gotten any worse etc...
Any thoughts appreciated, are these trannys noisy by nature or is it a common fault?

If you have extractors, i would put 2 bob on a busted passenger side engine mount, somtimes they rub somwhere when you give it a bit under load. Test the mount maybe and see.

it only makes the sound in 2nd and over 4000rpms no other time? Is it because in 2nd at high rpm the engine shifts on the mount?
