Hey guys this is my first post so be nice
I have just decided to buy a girls vs. i believe i have got myself a bargain at 1950! its my first car and so its nothing special. She got the car cheap and put a fair few k's on her (309000) yes i know this is high but you can tell it has been babied. clean interior, runs really well, minimal problems. i consider myself OK with cars and believe i can pick a lemon out from the few i look at. and byfar this one is the nicest of the bunch but what concerns me is the high k's. on inspection of oil it was over filled a little but didnt think it would hurt it to much, small leak from power steering and a dentin the door (has replacement door in the boot).
BUT for a girls car it does have some goodies
-surprised when i opened the bonnet and found some pacey extractors i told her about that and she goes whats extractors
-4 speakers with a decent head unit (ipod connectivity)
-slightly lowered
Well they are the only things worth listing haha.
the things i wanted to get an opinion on though is what to get serviced and with what parts so far i have decided when i pick her up tomorrow ill take some snaps then get onto servicing her :P
-Oil and filter
-fuel filter
-new plugs and leads unsure whether to pay extra andget the good stuff? any one have opinions on the more expensive plugs and leads?
-auto service (kit off ebay)
-New rear tyres (tyre shop job)
-air filter looked super clean but may replace with a CAI somewhere down the line is it worth it
-coolant flush and fresh coolant
-fix the power steering leak
-and bleed brakes (low on the fluid and the rubber thing has expanded HEAPS)
-maybe diff oil
thats all i can think of. any other things to prolong the life of her any recommendations?
Welcome to the forum and good luck with the new car. As far as plugs and leads go just get the standard ones, they will do just fine. Always use a coolant that meets the specifications for the Holden V6 ecotec engine, not that cheap watered down stuff.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
OK thanks manwill get some tomorrow and do a full service whoop whoop. and another question is changing a door without a hinge remover hard?
Just drive the pins out by whatever means you can come up with. Keep the weight off the hinges to allow the pins to come out easier.
