Hey mate, My work mate had this happen to his old BMW, think he took it to a panel beater, they straightened it, then did some welding then put a strut tower bar across to the other one. no idea on the cost though.
Do you like the car? With a thing like that I'm pretty sure you could get it classed as a write off.

yeah man i love the car,ive only got fire and theft on it anyway so i doubt they'd pay out on it. can it just be easily welded up or???
Well the BMWs i saw the whole thing collapsed towards the engine, looked like the left side had a massive amount of camber lol. So with it being a smallish crack im sure it would not cost to much todo, but i would leave it to a body work specialist todo such a job, then put in a strut bar to even the strength out.
It should be easy enough to weld how ever as said your better off going to see one of your local smash repair places.

pretty common on VR and VS
Looks like someone has been up a gutter in it at some time to cause a crack in the seam like that.Lucky you noticed it,It could have cracked all the way around the strut tower.
Looks like the body sealant has cracked?;only real way to find out would be to strip it back and find out wether it's that or the steel has cracked

Wat you see there is only a glue/sealant stuff. You really need to pear it back and see whats happenin under there. Again, i would be taking to a panel beater and seeing what they think.
