Well story goes i was in my commy playing with fuses because i stuck a multimeter down the gear selector globe because the fuse was fine BUT the globe wasnt working (fixed now by fiddling with wires and changed fuse to a higher one) now anyways the interior light now stays on AND i like my interior light. i spend alot of time in my car reading magazines, newspaper etc so its handy lol.
Have interior light fuse out because i dont want to drain my battery. and yes all my doors are closed, and no it doesnt have a switch on it so im a lil stumped
They do have a switch on the light switch may the wires u fiddle with caused a short
Is the dash light dimmer switch all the way up?
The interior light DOES have a switch, and thats it

1993 VP Interior Light Stays On
^^^^that seems awfully similar if some one could walk me through checking the earths or whatver it would be greatly appreciatted
Assuming you are talking about your VS berlina, grab the knob (lol) that controls your dash light dimmer. Slide it all the way to the top and keep going until you feel it click into place. Viola, you have just used your interior light switch. IF it won't slide up, try sliding it down. When you immediately feel a click, you have just turned off the interior light switch, and solved your problem.
Either way, you will have learnt something new and exciting....or at least new

sorry mate its an exuctive it was a silly mistake on my part. had a berlina badge in the car and i was like cool. anyways so its something electrical sorry to screw u around philty
Even the executive has the same switch in the same place on the main headlight switch. It controls the dashlight brightness as well as turns on the interior light.Theres been a few people on here before who have not known about this switch, and have bumped it on not knowing, then wondered why their interior light wouldnt go off.
thanks brett but u made me feel like such an idiot ill try tomoro.
I didnt mean to make you feel that way.If someone doesnt know about something, then they cant be called (or feel like) an idiot for not knowing about it.The switch is not really marked well on the dash, and it is hard to notice ,especially if you have not owned a commodore before.(although Ive noticed some ford headlight switches are nearly the same switch and have the same setup as holdens ones.)Just have a good look at the headlight switch and you should see it there. It slides up and down on the side of the main switch.Cheers
Yep, 90% sure my old exec had it as well. I remember I only discovered it by accident, and it took me ages to figure out why the light wouldn't turn off
