    Hi jadder,

I have just done what you are about to do. My VS is not completely done as yet - just a few things to go...

I would suggest keeping an eye on this site and also ebay. Look for a complete Statesman VS/VR dash. I also upgraded to climate control. Had a heap of help from someone on this site with that, I could not have done it by myself.

Prices will vary, so track them for a while.

Parts can sometimes be a challenge too - but stay patient and you will get there.

    Cheers

    One way to do it....

Grab any colour interior as long as its in good condition.
Grap 8 or so cans of black VHT VINYL DYE, good for vinyl, cloth, carpet an dash.
Spend a weekend cleaning with metho an spraying it all up.
Leave to dry a few days before install
One of my brothers is doing it at the moment an everything is comming up nicely
i'm not tailgating, i'm keeping up with the pace car

I just finished doing a complete interior conversion in mine. Sedan tho. From exec to berlina. I upgraded from the normal aircon system and dash to the level 3. I had to change the whole harness over. As mentioned about, that paint does work well, i had used it before. Its not something real fun to do either. Painting is the cheaper option, but just as effective. Whilst doing that you could always upgrade to a higher level of dash and heaterbox whilst doing it. If your interested can chuck some pictures up of the process of changing the dash and wiring over.

When I saw the comment "grab 8 or so cans...." I thought..."gee this guys is keen" LOL.

Nice work. I should have given the interior a good clean also before the install - it would have been easier.

    Cheers

Agreed. If leather does not suit - there is a couple of really clean interiors going on eBay right now.

I'd go with dyine the dash with the VHT dye as said aswell as the door trims, give a go at re-trimming your pillars & roof lining in something like vinyl.. have a look at mine

haha looks good bit too white for me as bein a tradie it wont be white for long i might go with a midnight blue (metallic) and black combo to suit my car and change the roof lining to black felt, felt the pillers or possibly make my owe fibreglass pillars, and ill look more into dying the dash and door trims, and retrim the seats in black leather with blue leather running down the center to make the whole colour scheme.
i look the look you have gone with mate looks awesome just wondering how long did it take to do the dash? also does it scuff easily or does the dye/paint come off?

Haha cheers, it took about a week to do it all, being white it's real easy to dirty & scuff, but a dark colour wouldnt show so much
