Picked myself up some lovell superlows the other weekend so am hoping to pop them in this weekend. I have done a bit of searching and by the sounds of it I am going to need a camber kit. I understand that the 4 point kits make it fully adjustable but do I really need a 4 point kit? I mean won't I only need to adjust it one way? Also what are people's opinion about the cheaper camber kits on ebay?
Cheers guys
toe and camber affect tyre wear infact toe can cause worse problems
That could be what he means by a 4 point kit? If your talking about the rear, then get a camper and tow it, then go get it realigned. I think their around $200 odd for the complete kit of the brand "Super pro" (the polyurethane ones) I think there is 1.5degree of adjustment of each part. Speak to your local suspension shop to find out prices and what is recommended by them.
1.5deg you will be lucky to get that with a 4 point kit if you want the toe in spec
Im not sure if im thinking about what is being mentioned. Im talking about this:
Holden Commodore Rear Toe & Camber KIT ( NEW) - eBay Coil Springs, Suspension, Steering, Car, Truck Parts, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 19-Sep-10 15:38:19 AEST)
If its not what your talking about, sorry.
I would highly recommend the Whiteline Plus ones, so far I have used their radius rod bushes and have some non adjustable bushes and cradle bushes for coming - what I like about the Whiteline ones is they come with the moly grease while looking at the super pro ones they do not come witht he grease nor make any mention from what I coul dsee on the packet about using the grease.
Just my 2c worth
BTW got mine from this guy on ebay
REAR TOE / CAMBER KIT FOR THE REAR OF IRS COMMODORE .. - eBay Other, Suspension, Steering, Car, Truck Parts, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 20-Sep-10 19:42:47 AEST)
That is an excellent ebayer. Delt with him before. Its it the same degree of adjustment for the whiteline ones as for the super pros? Their cheaper too, and i know whiteline is good for quality.
Ah ok cool, thanks for all the info guys.. love this site.
So by the sounds of it a toe and camber kit is the way to go, I had a look at both those links you guys provided and neither specify a brand. One set just seem to be a fair bit cheaper, might email the guys asking a bit more details. I will keep you guys updated on how things progress.
Again, thanks for the help![]()
My link was "Super pro" like the ones at super shit auto. Made of polyurethane.
Trikkys link is "whiteline" no to sure what their made of, never used them, but their site is: Whiteline Automotive - performance handling and suspension products. swaybar sway bar anti-sway bush bushes bushings australia australian whiteline automotive performance road holding turn-in camber caster toe in vehicle hot 4 v8. They have some good products.
Ah ok cool, I have heard the pedders kits are pretty useless so wanted to make sure I don't go wasting my money on a kit that will do nothing.
Thats fair enough. Iv installed and used the super shit auto ones, they seem to be alright. I cant compare them against anything as its the only set iv used, but ill be getting the whitelines in not too distant future.
Yeah well whitelines seem to be a fairly respectable brand so they may be the way to go.
the ones that trikky put up are roadsafe superpro copys, and i would say the ones that seq4x4 put up are cheaper copys of the superpro aswell. whiteline do a normal kit and also a superlow kit, and are easy to fit and adjust, the superpro kit is good but a bit harder to fit and adjust, there is nothing wrong with the pedders if you get the one that adjusts with a little c spanner easy to fit and adjust as well. all kits will come with grease.
Just a bit of an update on it all. I picked up a 4-point whiteline kit and installed it on the weekend, gave it a rough adjustment and it seems to have made a hell of a difference. So anyway its currently in getting a wheel alignment at the moment. As for installing the kit in theory it was easy enough but getting the old bushes out was a nightmare without a puller so its not something I really want do again in a hurry.
Ok so just picked it up from the wheel alignment. The guy said that I still have a bit of negative camber on the rear. 3.5 degrees on one and 2.5 degrees on the other. Looking at it from the back though it looks no worse than what it did when I first put my 18s on and it is about million times better than what it was before the camber kit was installed.
So anyway issue is all resolved. Thanks for your help guys.
