i'm having heaps of problems with my car and i carnt figure it out and would love some advice.
first it would cut out while driving and it wasnt ideling propley. so i changed the starter motor and the coil pack (and spark plugs and leads) this didnt help and after that it wouldnt start at all. so i changed the injectors and the battrey.
It is turning over and all acc is working, fuel pump is working.
I checked the spark plugs again and they were realy fuely so i replaced them again thinking it may have been flooded from trying to turn it over so much.
I changed the computer and bought a new chip but that hasnt seemed to help.
I took it into holden and $160 later they couldnt find a problem.
I am going to try one more thing but i dout it will help.
I would love some advice coz i'm to the point of putting a carby on it to see if that helps.
There dosnt seem to be any thing wrong with it but it wont start but dose turn over, sounds like its not getting enough oompf to kick it over.
Anna
have you checked injector pulse
If theres definitely fuel on the spark plugs, then its a sign the fuel system is working ok. Id be checking to see if there is any spark.Just get an old or a spare spark plug, and widen the gap to about 2mm,and remove one of your sparkplug leads one at a time and connect it to the spark plug. The part of the sparkplug that has the hex for the spanner to go onto needs to be earthed to a metal part of the body or engine,(tie wire works well) and then start the engine. You should get a good strong white/blue spark from the spark plug.Do this with each lead to check them all.If you dont get any spark at all,or get an inconsistant or a weak yellow/red spark,Id check the ignition coil or the ignition module.Theres also a sensor inside the distributor called a hall effect sensor(this sensor does the same job as the CAS -Crank Angle Sensor- on the V6).It might also be the cause your problem if its stuffed.

yeah spark plugs were the first thing i checked coz it was the least expensive and easyest to do and they are fine.
How do i check the injector pulse ?
You said the spark plugs were"realy fuely".There would be no fuel on the sparkplugs at all if the injector pulse was not there. The injectors wouldnt fire if there was no pulse. Also what did the actual spark look like, strong blue/white spark, or yellow/red spark?
Also what model is it?Do you know how to do the diagnostic test to check for ECU error codes? Its easy to do,it only takes a couple of minutes. You just flash up any logged error codes from the ECU with the check engine light on the dash, to see if there are any error codes logged and set in the ECU.Im pretty sure some of these error codes can prevent the car starting when they are set.Heres a link to the "how to" on doing the diagnostic error check on the VR/VS models.---Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)---
As above start with error codes. If you have fuel, which it seems you do. It has to be spark. Its gonna be 2 things, either the dizzy or the DFI module on the passenger strut tower. The dizzy has a hall effect sensor in it for engine position, which may be playing up, it could be that the dizzy cap is cracked or tracking also. Either way if you have had it up to here with it, its probably best to just get a newy and swap it out. If it is the dfi module you will need a newy also. With this, it is best to see if you can borrow one for a quick plug n play test to see if it fixes your problem, then you can shell out the $100 for a new one.
i pulled the top of the injectors of and turned it over and there was no fuel comming out grr mabey the spare's were sitting there way to long. so off to change them back to the ones i had on there to start with and if that dosnt work i give up to complicated for me its booked in for tommorro for the doctor lol. i also did the code check on it and it told me there was nothing wrong with it.
mabey i should invest in a match lol
