hot center console

just a quick question
when driving my vr i have noticed that the center console on the passangers side gets really warm and you feel the heat coming from it when sitting in the passangers seat and also when you hold your hand in the air around the center console also what would you think i can do to stop the heat comming from there it doesent happen everytime i go for a drive it just does it on occasions

I have a manual and my gear boot can get reasonably warm on occasion, so its probably not a problem but if you wanted to stop it you may be able to take the console off and put a layer of heat proof material or whatever it is between the console and tunnel.
