Hey Guys
Just wonderin which gearbox felt better, which helped with power and what would you recommend.
thanks.

Like above the BW has alot of cost benifits, but i've personally never felt a getrag to compare the "betterness" of it. If you wanted to put a higher diff ratio in, i would imagine the 6 speed box would have some advantages there though.
much prefer the t5 only for the fact it doesn't whine as much

getrag all the way for the drivers pleasure hydraulic clutch is soo much easier. but t5 for strength and cost benefits.
Getrag will drop its guts before the T5 and they cost a fortune.
i've never had a problem with T5's being hard to drive. Maybe if you have a really heavy clutch.
You can use a T5 on a VT 5ltr.
Might have to replace the pedal box with an earlier one provided it fits, so the cable will pull up properly.
I find the T5 some what hard at times like the "gate" for the gear is tiny, and T5s are hard with a heavy clutch until you get used to it and then I still reckon its hard.
Thanks For the Input.

I had a T5 in my VG ute, then went to a Getrag in my VT.
One of the bad points of the VT was the shift quality.
It was shit in comparison, to put it nicely.
If the Getrag had a top loading shifter it may be a different story, but the rubbers and linkages let it down big time.
T5 out of those two.
