The Getrag is mighty expensive if you need to replace it.

Like above the BW has alot of cost benifits, but i've personally never felt a getrag to compare the "betterness" of it. If you wanted to put a higher diff ratio in, i would imagine the 6 speed box would have some advantages there though.

Getrag will drop its guts before the T5 and they cost a fortune.
i've never had a problem with T5's being hard to drive. Maybe if you have a really heavy clutch.

What engine does the OP have, I have been told by the various people that a T5 will not go onto a VT v8 as it has a hydraulic clutch. I am looking to do a manual conversion and want to know what I can do with it.

    You can use a T5 on a VT 5ltr.
Might have to replace the pedal box with an earlier one provided it fits, so the cable will pull up properly.

I find the T5 some what hard at times like the "gate" for the gear is tiny, and T5s are hard with a heavy clutch until you get used to it and then I still reckon its hard.

I had a T5 in my VG ute, then went to a Getrag in my VT.
One of the bad points of the VT was the shift quality.
It was shit in comparison, to put it nicely.

If the Getrag had a top loading shifter it may be a different story, but the rubbers and linkages let it down big time.

    T5 out of those two.
