Hi all,
I have a 1995 s pack vs ute and was wondering how much lower SL king springs would make it?
About $150 for front and same price rear. Only a guess. All the sizes for king springs are the same price.

He means height wise lol not price, Superlows should lower 50-60mm I believe. Although some springs sit differently to others.
Sorry about that, its past my bedtime. Lol. As above, it varies to age of bushings and so on and what mods are on it.

its stock standard im pretty sure its on original bushes aswellfrom 1995 not sure tho only got it on saturday
If your changing the springs to supers might aswell get some lowered shocks aswell and change the control arm bushes aswell. pretty simple job
Oh and a strut brace. Going off what was said in my cracked struts thread.

Also what sort of load weight rating do the springs have?
If you get the ones to suit a ute/wagon you will be fine. They are designed with a different spring rate.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
it usually starts @ kings springs lows= 1 inch (26mm)
super lows= 1 1/2 inch (40mm)
super super lows= 2 1/2 inch (65mm)
ultra lows (sssl) = 4 inch (100mm)
Lets get one thing straight here. According to the King springs catalog, "KHFL-47SL+" for a VS V6 Ute are "low" springs, NOT superlow.
In other words, "SL" springs would lower the height by about 2-3CM.
For a VS V6 ute, "KHFL-47SSL+" are superlows.
if you have a look at my pic of my car they are Ultra Low king springs at the front and supper Lows at the back
super lows for a vr-vs ute are frt 340-345mm(khfl-47ssl=v6 & khfl-47=v8) and rr 325-330mm(khpr-24sl) aprox.
ive got KHFL-47SL's in the front and its almost tucking the front tyres.
ok thanks everyone
FYI, i dropped KHFL-47SL's in my VS last week. Contrary to my earlier email, the front sits waaaaaaayyy too low. The tire sits right on the guard.
The rear is OK....but i'll be changing the fronts for some FE2 soon.
The ride is ridiculous, its so bumpy. Looks tough as though. I'll be selling the front struts and springs soon...
You won't be happy with FE2 in the front. SL's are fine...if you want in between get a set of Lows and maybe compresss them slightly.
Well the front is just too low. Sits about 90mm at the lowest point of the front of the exhaust and the ride is terrible. Ive got Pedders Sports Ryders shocks aswell and i hears they're pretty bad shocks. I've got stock shocks in the rear with the superlow springs. The ride on the rear is ok and the lowest point of the exhaust and muffler are above 100mm.
I just wanna raise the front by about 10 - 20mm!!!
Technically, the "KHFL-47SL+" springs i have in the front should be "Lows" according to the King Springs catalog. On my VS V6 they sit at superlow height easy.
What can i do now fellas? What springs should i throw in the front??? I don't wanna go buying springs and compressing them....
Just spoke to The Tire Factory who rekkin they can throw in some Pedders "Lows" that will raise it slightly more than Kings superlows. Hopefully that will smooth out the ride a bit more too...
krilnik, i have a set of second hand pedders lows part# 2151 here if interested.
Thanks for your help Glenn, see ya soon.
I got KHFL-47SL in the front and KHRL-20HD Rear
The ride is bumpier then the stock springs for sure but the height is good
looks and handles better I was told using Lowered Shocks would fix the ride
but it ain't as bad as my mates EL falcon on supers the ride on that is ridiculously rough
ok thanks they must be able to haul weight of a quad bike around at least
Glenn just threw in the above mentioned pedders springs earlier this morning. Wow what a difference in ride comfort. No longer bottoms out on the bump stops over speed bumps and generally rides a whole lot smoother. It has raised the vehicle about 1-2cm. Perfect height now.
Thanks Glenn!!! Awesome work!!!
Oh, and for those following this thread ive now got some Kings KHFL-47SL springs for sale if anyones interested. $60. Melbourne only.
