Starts then conks out

Hey guys. This car's a head ache at the moment. It starts for about one second then cuts out, it does this over and over again. No error codes.

The only thing i've done is change the leads, but it was fine on the test drive, now it won't start.

maf sensors will do that and map sensors mine is doing it at the moment every now and then i have a wiring issue.spark leads can effect the readings and cause problems if theres too much interference do you have your old leads to test

Yeah i've got the old leads but one is broken hence why i bought new ones. It's doing the same thing that happens when you unplug the MAF and try to start it. But obviously it's MAP.

oh you are map tuned are you if you are check the volts on the map mine has an earth issue which makes the map read full 5v and makes it start then stop just as fast LOL.could just be the earth for the map.unplug the map and plug it back in again and try start it

Hmm ok, can you explain where i have to measure the volts? I didn't actually do the wiring myself.

stick one lead on earth then with key on measure volts at all 3 pins and post it up

I just unplugged it and replugged it and it started!! You are a lord among men, but i don't understand why this happened.

haha exactly what mine is doing dont stresss but ive been chasing mine for 2 weeks LOL new plug new map no different im not sure if its a wire touching another wire in the loom or the earth has a loose connection in the loom im going to start cutting 3" of wire out at a time till it doesnt do it any more im just slack when it comes to my own car it triggers a map code in the end and runs on the default map tables but modded kalmaker vs code probably doesnt have that setup

Thanks. The NRMA guy i called in desparation said "ohh you've run out of fuel" I tried putting more fuel in even though i knew i had a third of a tank, still didn't work "rah rah, get new fuel pump c'ya" Lol.

I knew it was electrical, but whatever.

Yeah there are no default tables on this tune. It's tuned in open loop as well so it either goes or it doesnt.

hahaha .could be as simple as the contacts need closeing up a little in the plug.least if it dies on the side of the road a wiggle and your away again. no default maps is a bad idea mines died a few times in a 300M long tunnel and on the motorway can get it restarted while rolling and get going to get out the tunnel or off the motorway drove it 70km home the other day on the default tables :P

My VS is dual fuel and runs fine on LPG but on petrol it will start for a few seconds then cuts out. Any ideas guys. If the map is cactus will it run on LPG?

Everything to do with a VS Commodore is old news ;-)
I did answer my own question by disconnecting the MAF (I know I asked about map) and it runs fine on LPG.
I think it's pump and filter time.
