Hi,
I think I have a problem with my diff that might be causing shuddering when I take off, or maybe not but i had the rear of the car on jacks and this is what I noticed. It's a VS non IRS, wagon.
When I spin either rear wheel forward, the other wheel Will HARDLY move, if I spin faster it will begin moving but very slowly, while this is happening driveshaft is spinning normally.
Now When I Spin either rear wheel backward, the other wheel spins at the same pace freely, but the driveshaft hardly spins.
Went under the car to spin the driveshaft to see what happens. When I spin the driveshaft clockwise, both wheels spin normally and when I spin it anticlockwise both wheels spin again normally.
But when spinning the driveshaft anticlockwise, it is much harder to spin.
Is all this normal?
I was thinking maybe a dragging caliper, but as I said when I spin either wheel backward, the other one spins freely at same pace, and also either wheel dont seem to have excessive resistance when trying to spin so that's why I think it might not be dragging caliper but something up with the diff?
Any ideas/info?
Thanks.
I have the same problem with my vs but I had shuddering also when the car Sits a high speeds an explanation to what's going on with my vs would be helpful
