Default What to do with an older VR

    Hey everyone
My housemate has an old Toyota Lexcen (1994 VR), its pretty beaten up and paint is faded, then interior is ok... motor still ok and auto is ok, not great but ok... It recently had about 2k invested into it in fixing brakes, new tyres and other stuff...

Any ideas of what to do with it? I rang one of those car disposal places and they offered me $250 provided it still runs (which it does)... Does anyone know of places interested in these old cars?

Thans Matt, its a Red VR, paint is all faded, one headlight smashed and front bumper totally cracked (someone reversed into it), one rear corner dented in due to someone reversing into it in a carpark... it looks pretty ghetto so im not sure if i'd get $1000 - $1500 for it because its looks would turn people off... The motor kicks first time and has had a few little things done like injectors, CAS and other works so there are some ok parts there for someone but its not a car you'd be restoring in a hurry...

could always part it out and sell it on ebay if you have the time and room

engine should fetch a few hundred alone

if it has a bit of rego left on it you can cancel that as well and get a refund

you would most likely get more money out of selling parts on ebay then selling the car as a hole thing

Speaking from experience, grab the $250 and be happy with it. The hassles you face when selling it as parts will totally frustrate you and finding a buyer for it as a running vehicle in the ghetto class is very hard....plus they never have the money till the next pension cheque comes. Sad but true.
