How do i get the gromit out for engine wiring loom through firewall in vn 5 litre

Hi everyone.. Having trouble getting the gromit out, to remove wiring harness through firewall.. How do i get it out without damaging it ? Its all disconnected from ecu, just need to get the rubber gromit out and then pull harness through.. Cheers

if its like the later vt ones
there are a few tabs around it that you need to push down ( flatten out ) from the inside then push it through

There is a round grey clip thing that you need to remove, it goes all the way around the gromit and has a join that is faced upwards were it cant be seen. Was a prick took me about 10 painful minutes to figure out, if you look on the drivers side under the bonnet, follow the wires from fuse box to the firewall, youll see the same clip/gromit setup there but its on the outside where it can be seen.

3 prongs on the inside of the gromet just push them in with your fingers and she pops out

So do you push the prongs in from the inside or engine bay of the car?

inside the car where the ecu plugs in follow the wires up to the gromet and then you can press 1 prong at a time and it will push out

got the loom out pretty easy once i could see the little grey clip.. i found it easiest to turn gromit around so i could see the split where the clip joins, got a screwdriver in there and it popped straight off, easy as. just frustrating if you dont know about it.
