if you use the search function on the forums you will find that plenty of people have asked this question and similar ones and that plenty of people have covered vast amounts on information on the topic. if you have a look here: The complete Vn-Vr Manual Conversion Guide. all the information you could possibly be after will be covered. as far as im aware you can use the vn tranny on a vs but there will be issues with the flywheel depending on whether the transmission is from a s1 or s2 vn. i think you have to change to a different puk flywheel. i cant really remember the specifics but have a look at the link i posted and you shall find your answers. good luck!

Cheers man just had a look through it all. Sadly i don't have the mechanical brain to do that myself. Anyone know how much it would cost me to get it done by a mechanic if i supply all the parts... Thanks

thats alright, yeah i was in the same position as you and ended up just making do with it being an auto. i dont know an exact quote but a mechanic will charge you roughly $100 an hour in labour. i have no idea how many hours it would take so not sure how much help that would be? good luck with the conversion and let us all know how you go with it

A good mechanic can do it in in a day,2 at worst. The bloke who did mine took 6 wks including a engine change which should make the job easier. labour was $600-800
