Hey all got a vs excutive wagon and just need to know filling the gearbox over full mark would it make it delay a second or to to engage when you select reverse or drive.
Overfilling can cause many problems although I don't think what you describe is one of them....however you should drain some out (undo the oil cooler connection at the radiator and let gravity drain some out) It's normal to have a delay of up to 2 seconds before D or R is selected - it even mentions this in the owners handbook so I wouldn't be worried about that.

In the VS gregorys workshop manual it says "Do not overfill the auto transmission, or foaming of the transmission fluid, and unsatisfactory operation of the transmission may result"
ok thanks for that where is the oil cooler conection on the radiator thanks.
The oil cooler connections are on the passenger side radiator tank - use 2 spanners to undo as both will be tight....you can get away with just undoing one and then start the engine and run till it pumps out the overfill quantity. Otherwise suck some up the dipstick tube.
