    Default brake lighting issues

i have a vs executive and only the interior brake light works, the outside lights dont. every other light on the back works (parkers, reverse, indicators).

i have checked all the globes and fuses and they seem to be fine, wtf is going on?

Check the globes, the brake light globes are twin filament, they are also the tail lights. Not uncommon for the brake filament to go and still have tail lights. Also check the holders, sometimes they corrode and don't make a good contact for the earth.

Just looking at the wiring diagram in the VS gregorys workshop manual, and it shows the high mounted centre brake light is on the exact same wiring circuit as both the rear brake lights. It has to be a problem with either the bulbs, the wiring or the the wiring connectors..If it was a blown fuse or brake pedal switch playing up,the high mounted brake light wouldnt be working either.

Usually if one fails you don't immediately notice it, but when the second one fails you pretty soon notice it due to no red glow behind when reversing which is probably why you feel they both failed at the same time.
