Lightbulb Will a set of VY rims vit a VS

I used to have these vy 17" rims on my old VN commodore and the front studs just kept snapping everyweek, i now have a VS commodore and im wondering if the same problem will happen again, or was it because the VN hubs were different??? should they fit snug on the Vs hubs, i just dont wanna go and spend heaps of money on new tyres for the rims if there just gonna snap the studs on the Vs.... by the way the studs never snapped on the rear wheels of the vn, only the front.

Sounds dangerous to me,and it doesnt get more dangerous than snapping wheel studs,Id just buy a set of proper fitting rims made for that specific car.Its not worth risking your life and other road users lives, just so you can "look good". Im sure Ive read somewhere that VY rims dont fit a VS without some machining done, not 100% sure on this though.
EDIT -It was VE rims I was thinking of that need machining to fit a VS.Well there you go,I knew Id read somewhere that it was one of the later model commodores.

I have VY calais rims on my VT, but not sure if the hubs are different between VS and VT so don't know if that helps you or not.

i wonder why they kept snapping on my old vn, they only snapped the front wheel studs never the back ones, it has to be because the front hubs were different and didnt sit nicely in the rim, i dunno

It could be because they were over-torqued at some point

dunno i torqued them to about 120 i think or 115 with a torque wrench , even with a fresh set of studs they eventually snapped

as far as im aware upto the vz the rims were interchangeable without modification or at least i've never heard of early girls needing mods to fit those rims. Holden changed the stud pattern on the ve series and those are the only rims ive heard that need to be machined to fit earlier models.

Yes they will fit fine, its something like vk to vz are the same wheel stud pattern , so any rim from those cars will fit each other and what not

I thought everything VN-VZ was interchangeable? If they kept snapping you had some other problem going on.

    ^^^ what he said.

If the wheels are really really really unbalanced then MAYBE, it could snap a stud.
